I wrote this a bit earlier tonight as a comment in reply to another Viner's seed.
As I consider what to write I'm listening to Sen Jeff Sessions deal with the softballs about Donald Trump's "elephant in the room" being gently floated at him by CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
Sessions says "the media" has overblown the "private conversation" between Trump and Bush.. and then pivots to saying "We know that Bill Clinton has raped Juanita Broaddrick". He then bemoans the "fact" that we can't (or won't) talk about this. It seems Senator Sessions has forgotten the near two decades of verbal, textual, and visual mileage they've gotten with their politicization of Broaddrick's case. Despite her many protestations that she hasn't Broaddrick has increasingly become at one with the Darkside of America's political divide; the FRight has embraced her and she them.
Back to Sessions.
What a flatulence filled political whore. Sessions embodies just what I mean whenever I'm forced to explain exactly why I find today's so-called "conservatives" so incredibly pathetic, deplorable, and morally disgusting.
Now Wolf Blitzer is very likely fully and completely aware that Session's and other "conservatives'" contention about what they "know" is based on a signed affidavit by Broaddrick; he's likely just as aware that this is all that exists.. and is also more than matched by signed statements regarding child-rape, employee rape, and spousal rape alleged to have been committed by Donald Trump. If we "know" that Bill Clinton is a rapist because someone asserted she was raped by him then the same standard applies to Donald Trump; we then now can say we "know" that he is a rapist from an early age, a sexually predatory employer, and a sexually abusive husband.
Wolf neither acknowledges that, follows the logical train, nor does he make any attempt to dismiss or counter Session's disingenuous assertion that he "knows" that Bill Clinton has raped anyone; he just lets this assertion remain unmet and unmatched.
This leads me to tonight's debate.
If this is the tack that Republicans and Donald Trump want to take then I think she needs to give Trump a look of human disgust when he does and move on to her talking points after a terse rejoinder.. and those of us in the background need to start pounding this primary nail which Republicans are now to pinning their electoral hopes upon.
Letting this crap remain untouched in places like Newsvine is fine but they DO need to be publicly answered by and in the context of what charges are and have been levied against Donald Trump. The contrast of TEApublicans resting their collective cases on nothing more than unproven allegations and then dismissing other various unproven serious allegations, of the same or even greater legal standing than they consistently use so as to excoriate and humiliate Hillary Clinton and her husband, as unworthy of comment must be made as the "conservative" expectation of entitlement to both sides of a one-way street going only their way must also enter the wider public's mental "lexicon".
Ivana first alleged rape and then years later, after settlements were made, walked that allegation back. (also) His attorney has famously said that spousal rape, by definition, simply cannot occur and threatened serious financial repercussions against those who'd even bring up the issue.
Now I've just seen Donald Trump's photo-op and am listening to CNN's commentary...
and while they talk about "rattling Clinton" and calling Trump's Stunt a Bombshell and Stunning Development not a single one of CNN's commentators noting that Donald Trump is facing his own collection of accusers who are seeking their day in court.
He has brought Bill Clinton's accusers, as Breitbart news or some other alt-FRight rag-sites would've done, and has embarked on a campaign of expecting America to take accusation as fact.
And my resolve is doubled.
Whether or not Bill Clinton's accusers are right or wrong; regardless of the veracity, or lack thereof, of the charges leveled if we are now to take accusation as conviction then Donald Trump's world needs to be rocked by this very same standard.
Hillary shouldn't take the bait Donald has chosen to dangle. Leave that to others.
But Donald Trump needs to take the very same lumps he's willing to dish. Kelly-Ann Conway has belligerently re-tweeted Hillary Clinton's wonderful tweet condemning the closed defensive adversarial environment which too many colleges use when dealing with rape accusations on their campuses. Kelly-Ann goes on and almost manically restated Hillary's demand that those victims be heard and believed.. but I'm willing to bet that she only wants accusations against Trump's opponent's husband to be so believed. When this same standard is applied to Donald Trump I seriously doubt she'll be anywhere near as adamant about treating an accusation as a given fact.
On the race to the bottom.. there's one clear winner; Donald Trump and his campaign basket of fast-talking and fast-spinning apologist spokes-people.
